I have a 1973 65 hp evinrude, I have a friend with a 1977 70 hp evinrude powerhead. can I mount the 77 powerhead to the 73 motor? If I can what do I need to look at to see if it is possible to do that. Thanks.
No problem. It will work. You will need to retain the shift linkage to the 73. Look at the linkage and you will see the difference but the mounting point is the same. <br /><br />With the 77 you also gain the larger rods and wrist pins in the pistons.<br /><br />Good luck!
