Powerhead Swap GT150 - GT200

I hope I can explain this and still make sense. I have a 1989 GT150 on a 20' Skeeter Bass Boat. I have the opportunity to buy a 1992 GT200 that has no lower unit (hit a log in the river) for $500. I'm pretty sure it won't bolt right up because the 150 is a crossflow and the 200 is a looper. However, the same guy has the midsection, complete, from a 200 Venom that he will throw in with the powerhead. I know my lower unit should fit either of these, my question is will the Venom midsection bolt to the GT200 Powerhead? Unfortunately I don't have model numbers for any of them except for mine and its J150STLECM. Also, should I be concerned of damage to the powerhead on the GT200 since the lower unit was removed in a pretty violent fashion?? It would be great to put all of these together and have a 200 for $500! Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if this swap will work? I'm about 90% sure that it will all fit together, the upper exhaust housing gaskets on the Venom and GT200 are the same. I already know that the lower unit I have will fit the Venom exhaust stack, I'm just hoping to hear from some experts on their thoughts on this. Thanks!

Your lower unit will bolt up to either looper midsection. You'll need a looper shift rod.

Thanks, that is correct . . what I need to know for sure is if the GT200 powerhead will bolt directly to the Venom midsection. Anyone? thanks in advance!
