Chris....what's the year or model number?

Usually all ya' need to do is disconnect the fuel line, any wires that are connected to the block and any adjustment carb needles sticking through the pan. The throttle tower shaft will have to be disconnecte and removed. This is on the port side of the block and connects to the magneto arm.
Remove the block retaining bolts and pull the head off.
'Course...this is just roughly what to do. Lookin at a pic would help.

Chris Good weekend to you as well.I'd wait for the manual. When everything is properly disconnected you still have to pry the power head off of the exhaust housing /adapter plate. If you miss a bolt, prying will cause damage.
DHP

thanks for the help OBJ & DHP; yeah I'm reluctant to do too much without readin up on it, i'll remove all the bits and pieces and try to lift the powerhead. If it doesn't want to move, I'll wait for the book! My browser won't let me paste pictures on this post for some reason. I'll let ya know how I get on
many thanks for your help.

regards chris
