It's Storming like heck around here, rain and wind. Today I get into the Truck,
2004 Chevy Tahoe Z71, and my driver seat is in the most forward position (wife last to drive it) and I have NO power to the seat to move. I also noted the control that turns on the heating on the seat also has NO power.
I looked for a fuse or a breaker that controls them but unable to find. Does anyone know the location of the fuse/ breaker and what it is labelled? I have looked in the fuse box on the driverside end of lower dash and I've looked in engine compartment fuse box. Label and Location is the question.

You can go to Autozone.com and sign up free and add your Tahoe to the My vehicles list.
From what i understand that should be a square metal top breaker with 30A on it.
Wish i could help more with the location....

Got this from another website...looks like it may be on the inside fuse panel...

depending on if you have memory seats or not the driver power seat has a 30 amp circuit breaker located in the relay block located to the left of your brake pedal.be carefull of removing the circuit breaker it coulg be very hot due to a shorted wire causing the circuit breaker to trip.there is usually a shorted orange wire near the park brake pedal or near the relay block.if the circuit breaker is not hot to the touch then there is a blown fuse in the under hood fuse block located under the hood on the driver side of the vehicle. if the fuse is blown the wire is grounded some where between fuse block and the relay block. thank you and let me know what you find

Getting alittle damp under the hood is it:eek:
If the breakers/fuses are wet, remove them, blast out with compresed air, wipe clean, give a quick shot of wd-40, replace fuses/breakers. The dirt/muck is just shorting them out.

I truely wish it is that simple.....I just feel there is a bit more to it than dirt and muck. The heated seats aren't working, I really miss that, as well as the seat movement. Both stopped operating at the same time. Still researching.

Do they come off of the same breaker/fuse?

Muhahahahaaaa! Thats what I'm trying to find out. So far I've read that Fuse/ Breaker labelled MBEC or LBEC are know to cause both problems...I wish I knew.

Possible seat module problem, its under the seat.
Co-worker had nothing but problems on his 04 Pick Up, seat heater problems that is. From day one and Chev tried to fix it several times but never got it right ended up trading it in.
He has an 08 now with cloth seats but a neat factory remote starter.

Re: Powered Seats No Power

Found this Googling tahoe seat module

that just happened to my 03 Tahoe.

If yours is equipp'd as mine.....power memory seats, heated seats...etc , then you will have a control module under the driver's seat.

What happened to mine was the electrical connection at the underside of the seat was melted. There is a main power feed and ground feed....right next to each other, (another GM brilliant move) and the ground wire melts inside the plug and looses contact.

The result of non functioning power driver's seat and both front seatheaters. The passenger power seat works fine.

To fix the problem:

Reach under the seat at the plug and move the wires around while someone holds the power seat switch forward and the seat should move up and you can see the plug and wires.

Next unplug the seat wiring from the floor wiring and look at the plug..(mine was black inside)....
what I did was cut the red and black feed wires(the thick 10gauge wires)and made a new connector and joined them up by adding some wire to each and soldering them in place.

Now it works fine...however, if yours still doesn't work after doing this, its possible that the power seat control module has blown.

Re: Powered Seats No Power

**UPDATE**

After considering a purchase of a New Tahoe, with seats that work, I got a message from a Guy who was also willing to help. He sent these instructions:

"I would guess if you get in the back seat under the driver side seat, grab
the wiring harness and move it it will start working. If you can turn the key on and have someone hold the seat control button in any position when you move the wiring harness it will start moving. If you have kids that ride
in the back with cowboy boots you may want them to ride on the other side. lol grin.... Your heaters will magically work too. Kinda a bad design
but nothing serious loose wiring is all it is good luck."

I did what he said, I wiggled and pulled everywire underneath the drivers seat and now it Works? I can drive my truck again! I want to thank all here who offered help.
I hope this may help some one in the future, Now I should go back to the Dealer and tell the guy no thanks, I don't need the $600.00 module.....Muhahahahaaaaa!

Winsor03Cobra, Thank you, It looks like its the same info you gave, I just didn't pull or wiggle the wires hard enough.
