Can anyone help? I have a 75 yamaha with power trim. The pump and motor and all the internals seem to work, only sometimes all I get is a clicking noise on the solenoid. A light tap on the pump triggers it to work again, (I have had it start working again by tapping on the motor as well) only to have it hang up again. It is a dual piston and single ram, I guess that's how to describe it. Thanks
Arthur

Re: power trim

if you are tappping on the electic moter and then it works the moter needs replaceing or rebiult if you tap relays then relays need replaceing

Re: power trim

Thanks torxdrive, I am tapping on the motor, and boy it doesn't take much of a tap either, do you think rebuilding it is a good idea, or should a new one be purchased.

Re: power trim

It proably just has corrosion built up on the contacts. You can probably get away with cleaning it out.

Bob
