Power Trim Unit for 77 Evinrude 115

A friend has the motor and wants to purchase the power trim unit. His unit will not lift the motor. Does anyone know what common problems occur with these units and what to look for? Who can we contact to purchase a unit?<br />Thanks.

Hey, Mikie. Make sure that the manual release valve is fully closed. Does the pump motor run? Is it an internal or an external (to the transom mount) unit? Is the fuse okay? Etc., etc. Clymer B736, Chapter 10.<br /><br />If he doesn't want to fix it, it would be cheaper to buy a blown up engine with working T&T and switch them.
