I put the boat up @ month ago due to all the hurricanes blasting by. Yesterday I went to lube the motor and trailer and I had no power trim/tilt. So to the book I went. Found the relay box for the trim. Removed the 2 wire connector and got my handy multimeter out. The book shows that the grounds will float between the blue and the green wire going to the trim motor. But when I read out the pins both pins are giving 12 volts at the same time, I read each relay out one at a time and they are all working porperly. I did notice that the male pin on the relay box for the blue wire looked like it got a little hot (discolored).

I ran 2 10 gauge wires from the battery to the trim motor leads and the motor ran but did'nt sound great. So my questions are this: Do these relay boxes (factory sealed)crater easily or should I be looking at the motor for the real cause. I am somewhat baffled that I could get a +12 volts out of both pins. The other thing is that the book says all 4 relays are used for trim/tilt, why? When I was reading everything out only 2 of the 4 made any difference. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark
