Hello, I am new to the Forum but it looks to me like a great place where boaters help other boaters.
Problem: I recently bought a 2000 Maxum 1800sr (3.0L Mercruiser) in great condition. Everything has been fine over the last few weeks, she runs great. Anyways the other day we went out in the Gulf and it was very choppy, so much so that we decided to head to the backwater, but not before we ran aground on a sand bar with the trim almost all the way down (we were going very slow, no other damage, but the lower unit definitely hit the sandbar). When I went to raise the trim it was stuck (no up or down, just made clicking noise). So we limped back to the dock, and luckily it wasnt all the way down so we were able to trailer it. My friend (who's good with boat engines) figured out that we had torn loose 2 wires from the trim motor. Just by touching them to the trim motor we were able to raise it up. Now we cannot seem to find where these 2 wires are supposed to hook into permanently to the trim motor. (looks like no place for them to hook into anywhere on it). Worse, however, is after we got the trim up, we went to flush the engine and it would not start. (battery is good becuase all other things worked blower, radio, ect.) So bottom line is I need to figure out where these 2 wires attach to the trim motor, and also we must have done something messing around with it to screw up the ignition, since it wont start (i get nothing, doesnt try to turn over, makes absolutley no noise and does nothing when trying to start) Unfortunately my boat guy went back up North, and I really need some help (do not want to take it in to repair). I see so many of you helping out other boaters that I feel like this is the best place to ask. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! thanks.....
