Hello guys,
Well, i have a 1992 70hp Nissan, I got it hooked up to the boat and it is running but the power trim is shot. I can move the motor up and down by hand when I turn the screw to manuel. Does this mean that the motor is bad and not the hydraulics? Is it possible to rebuild these power trims? Does anyone know where to get used ones? Is there a simple test I can do to tell me if the motor is bad? I know there is a lot of questions, thanks a lot.
James (brand new daddy of a little girl..that's why I need the boat in excellent condition, so I can raise her the proper way)

nope, I don't hear a thing, that's what makes me think it could be something as simple as the switch. I just don't know how to test this stuff. Thanks for writing

Start from the control box trim switch and check for continuity to the two trim solenoids. You can bypass the solenoids by jumping across them. If that is all good....then its a trim motor. New trim motors are right at $600.00.
