power trim fluid

98 merc gen 2 Seloc manual say only use 10w30 in a emergency in the trim pump then drain & refill as soon as possible cant find any thing in the merc manual.Is pt fluid absolutly nessecary or will 10w30 do?

Don't use ATF, here is from an owners manual from Merc. If you put in 10W 30, you do not have to change it.<br /><br />

ATF sound right for trimtabs.I think my trim pump states 10-20 oil.Charlie
