1990 60HP Johnson. One day it worked, next it didn't. Well, not exactly the next day, but a couple weks of sitting. I am confused as to what could cause this to happen. The battery is fully charged and all connections are good. I tried replacing the relays and that didn't help either. Could the motor have just died that quickly?

Start at the trim mtr and follow the blue and green wires where they go back to a connector. Disconnect and run 12 volt pos to blue and 12 volt neg to green and see what happens. reverse the wires and check again. You'll be using jumper wires going directly to the t/t mtr. If it works the mtr is okay and you have a prob with switch or in the wiring.

Thanks for the tip.
I did just that today and it worked fine. So, it has to be in between that connector and the switch(s) Neither switch works. Time to trace the wires back and look for something wrong. Not my idea of fun but what the hell, can't be too tough.
