I have a 1977 Johnson 85 hp outboard motor that will move up but not down. It sounds like the trim motor is running but there is no movement of the motor.
Hey, Shellback. Sounds like fluid is low. Pull threaded plug on cylinder and top it up. Then run her up and down a few times and top 'er up again. You may need to leave her alone for a while if the fluid has foamed to let the air out of the oil.<br /><br />Good luck.<br />JB
