Hi,
I have a 1991 force 120hp. the power tilt and trim have always worked fine until this year. Yesterday the boat was in the yard on the trailer, the motor was in the up position and I tried to lower the motor. when i hit the button to lower it, the motor just dropped slowly. now the tilt and trim will not move it either way. Just wondering if anyone knows what the problem may be. Also wondering if it may just be the fluid. I have never checked this and don't know how or where to look. I would like to try and fix it myself before paying out the wazoo to get it fixed at the marina. Any help on where to go from here would be greatly appreciated

directly wire to a car battery. blue to positive for up and green to positive for down.

If it works then you have relay problem and you should be able to fix it with a pair of $6 relays.

If it doesn't work then it could be pump or motor - not enough info. Doesn't really matter though. 1988-1992 you should replace the pump as an assembly. Whether it is motor or pump problem the other one is likely to break soon. They usually go close to each other. About $230 for rebuild and $400 for new. Search iboats and ebay for force tilt pump.
