Hi,
I would like to install a swivel type power jack on my boat trailer. I currently have a manual swivel jack. Problem is, I can't find anyone or manufacturer that makes a swivel type power jack. At this time i'm considering purchasing an Atwood power jack such as their model #80524. I would need to weld a swivel type bracket to replace their side bracket.
Anyone out there know of anyone that offers a swivel power jack? Your help would be most appreciated! Thanks

i just looked at the 80524, i see no need for it to swivel, all you would have below the tongue in full up is the wheel. if you don't have enough clearance for that. you need to rethink you hitch situation.

Re: Power Swivel Jack??

Hi,
When fully retracted, the jack w/wheel is 9" below the trailer frame. This is fine when towing, but my problem, at times, is at the boat launch. Not all, but at least 3 - 4 of them in my area when backing in, this jack would bottom out. A simple fix "would" be to turn my receiver over and gain 4". If I was to do that my trailer would not be level which could give me a surge brake problem. I suppose that I could do one of two things; 1) Remove the caster and use a foot w/ extension. 2) Weld a swivel bracket. Either way, of course, I would void any warranty. I know I could modify the jack to make it work just fine, it's just to bad that there isn't one offered as a swivel. Thanks to all for your comments and if anyone else has any suggestions please let me know. Have a great, safe boating season!
