power surge or something

I don't even know what to call what happened. Recently I rebuilt my carbs on the rude 115, it has worked great for the two or three times I took her out. It's still a little difficult to start, but one running was great. This past weekend after being on the water for about 8 hours and running it up and down the lake more than I ever have until running full throttle the power cut suddenly. The engine never died but it was as if I pulled up on the throttle and stopped. I pulled the throttle arm up and pushed it back down and it took off again, still never dying. It had fresh gas and the water was very rough as there was a lot of pleasure boaters out there making waves, which was why I was running so fast trying to get back to my truck and leave. Any ideas what this may be from. Could it be from the rough conditions or is something getting ready to happen which will make it a bad day on the water for me.

Fixing intermittent faults is very hard as its hard to track them down, it could of being the powerpack having a temporary blip. I wouldnt sweat it.
I swear my car develops problems then fixes itself for good

Thanks B,
It worries me that I'll get out on the lake along ways from the ramp and it won't start or will die on me and leave me stranded, I've lately been contemplating going and buying something newer. Of course I don't want to do that for many reasons as they all deal with cost. But I do love my time on the water. I guess I'll just drive on and face what happens if it happens.

It would probably be a good idea to check the engine for loose connections, linkages etc. As a rule I never go out without a kicker. I hate paddling.
