anyone have an idea of the diffrance between a $450.00 mercruiser power steering pump and a $85.00 chevy power steering pump.

Ayuh,... While their both Saginaw pumps, the mounting bolt locations,+ fitting connections could be Different...

And there are differences in output volume, pressure, flow control valve etc..and people think all Q-jets are the same too...sigh 'nutcase

While nutcase may be right, my father has sucessfully used regular auto ps pumps on Mercruiser engines. He has had to switch the reservoir on one or two of them, though. Also the pulley may be different.
