Power Steering Shake

I recently changed the cylinder and I still get a small-medium shake when turning port side fast (it doesn't happen much when I turn slow). I also noticed that it's less when the trim is down. I've been bleeding the system on and off for about 3 weeks and still can't get rid of it completely.

I followed the steps from this thread but no luck

http://forums.iboats.com/volvo-pent.../volvo-penta-jerky-steering-issue-586541.html

Another thing I want to mention is that while installing the new PS cylinder the only way to get the steering cable through was by removing the following parts (SEE PDF). The head of the steering cable that the pin connects to is too big.
11 3859052 1 Bushing
12 3859051 1 Snap ring

The jerk movement feels more like a hydraulic issue rather than something loose but I could be wrong..?
BTW I looked at the original cylinder and it didn't have it either.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Power Steering Shake

What's the full model number of your engine? Not all had 11 & 12
Does your cable move easily inside the steering cylinder tube?

Engine 5.0 Gi PWTR 4110176228 3868945
Drive Unit 411206 4799 SX-M 1 60 3868891
Transon Assembly TSK-SX-11 4111600571I 3868848

Not much room through the cylinder for the cable to move around.

Grease fitting on the unit?
If not,try 30wt.on the shaft.
How tight is the cable and shaft?Tight?Loose? Loose can be binding.Tight can be binding.
How much is too big? On the cable end?
Sometimes they get mushroomed out from people hitting them with a metal hammer.
Just file it down.

Try turning the drive back and forth with the cable disconnected. If it's tight you may have a steering shaft binding up.
