Power steering hose.....

I have been looking around online for a power steering return hose and haven't had much luck. What I have found costs $100 or better. That just seems way too much for a simple hose with a fitting on one end and open on the other. Any ideas on where I might find one of these hoses? I have a 1984 Mercruiser 305, Alpha 1 drive. Thank you.

Any local industrial hydraulic hose shop can make you one pretty easily, usually using your old end.

Ayuh,... It's the low pressure return hose, Right,..??

Automotive low pressure return line is the Same thing,...
Reuse your old end, with a hoseclamp...

It is on the low pressure side but the fitting seems to be pressed onto the hose. Probably gonna end up doing like zbnutcase suggested and find a hose shop somewhere. Thank you both for your timely replies and your wealth of knowledge.

Ayuh,... Exactly,....

Grind off the outer crimping piece,...
Dig off the rubber hose, 'n you're left with a screw fitting on 1 end, 'n a barb on the other...
Slide on the New hose, 'n seal with a hose clamp...

Now that's thinking outside the box! Never would have thought about that. Great suggestion.

Most NAPA autoparts places can make up whatever you need.

If it's the low pressure side, a simple fitting/clamp set up is more than adequate!
