I'm almost finished re-powering my boat. My outdrive has a power steering cylinder that looks like this:
The engine is a Mercruiser 233 without a power steering pump. I don't plan on installing a pump and i was wondering if I could just manually steer the boat without hooking up the cylinder. What would be the best way to do this? Could I fill up the cylinder with fluid and block off the holes? Or would it be easier the just remove the cylinder and replace it with a manual assembly?
