Power Steering cooler cracked

I have twin 01 5.7 mercs on the boat, the other day, I checked the PS fluid on the SB motor and it is real watery and pink/frothy. I am assuming the cooler is cracked. My question, can I swap coolers with the port engine (which is not cracked) since it is not used? Should I just leave a cooler off the port eng and splice the hoses? Or should i just get the bad cooler repaired/new and leave the port eng alone? Opinions welcome! THX

id get a new one put on and be done with it correctly, as ya never know the day may come when an emergency may require that engine be used safety first !
