Power Question

Hey Guys, im new to the forums but have been very impressed with the knowledgable feedback so i was just looking for some advice. I have a 12 foot Shakespeare wondercraft, its a fiberglass tri-hull and I was just wondering what you guys would think would be able to move the boat fast. I know the boat is not all too familiar, but the hull is very similar to the 13 foot whaler, and its styrafoam filled like the whaler. Currently I have a 2000 8 HP Nissan. By myself the boat goes pretty well, roughly 20-25. I want to be able to get 2 or possibly 3 people in it and be able to go equally as fast. I see 13 foot whalers with 40 HP motors on them so what do you guys think would the right fit. It doesnt have the HP rating on it so I am kind of guessing what would be right.

I'd think the max would be 25. Even that might be a stretch. Definately not 40.
