power packs

is there more than one power pack in the 1989 225hp johnson outboard. 3 of my cyl. cut out when i rev up

Could be. A number of newer OMC motor had a pack per bank. Take the cover off and take a look. If it has two packs, swap side for side and note if the good bank is now bad. If so, buy a new pack.

my 95 175hp evnrd has one pack but one side gave out ( must be divided internally). Also the shift switch will cause the same problem (alot cheaper!)
