power pack

hi new to the forum. i have a 1977 85 hp evinrude v4. was running great out tubing and motor shuts down. let cool and starts right up, warms up to operating temp and shuts down. check spark and there is none. let cool down , check spark and theres spark. motor starts, shuts down when warm no spark. question is, is this the power pack or stator or?. any help would be appreciated. thankyou!

Could be the regulator, stator, powerpack, or timing base

ok checked everything except the volts don't have a dva meter. stator has 2 cracks in the insulation. does this mean its no good? need regulator broken red wire. would this cause no spark?

Without a dva meter all you can do is guess as to what is wrong. The regulator will not cause a no spark condition as the bat charging and ignition are to seperate systems.
