Power Pack Compatibility

As leftovers from my V4 project I have a pair of powerpacks. Not sure what to do with them. The wiring and plugs is pretty much the same as the 2-cylinder powerpacks since each pack only fires 2 cylinders of the V4, although the part numbers are different (581927 for most 1984-ish 2-cylinders, vs. 582125 for the V4s). Will a single V4 powerpack work on a 2-cylinder motor (.ie, is the difference in the part number only, or is there a real difference in the packs?) If so, then I'll put them in the parts drawer for future use, as most of the motors I see are smaller variety...

Thanks!
- Scott

Re: Power Pack Compatibility

They all have the same functions. Some have rev limiters at some (different) point, some dont have limiters at all. The color coding will tell you what each wire does. However, the firing order on a V6 crossflow pack isnt the same as on the V6 looper. No problem, you simply switch the orange primary wire on the coils or in the connector. Trust me on that one.

A lot of V6 crossflows used 2, 3 cyl packs. I'm sure you could use a 3 cyl pack on a 2 cyl. Youll just have an incoming and an output wire left over. Never tried that personally but told a buddy and he said it worked fine.
