I have a '93 Johnson J175EXETR. The BRP site lists my pack as a 584988 (blue sleeve). I'm puzzled because it refers to the last digit in the p/n for which pack is used, either a blue sleeve or a gray sleeve. Mine ends in R so I need the blue sleeved pack. Trouble is years ago I replaced the stator and it is gray sleeved. I don't remember what the old stator sleeve color was or if there are different stators that should match the pack. I'm wondering what the actual difference in the packs are. I've searched and found refernce to the last p/n digit but nothing technical.<br /><br />Issue is - my pack is bad and I need to replace it. But since my stator is gray sleevd should I use a gray sleeved pack or stick with the blue?
