I have a 2000 model 100 HP four stroke. Model number is F100TLRY. I recently purchased it and it has a bad knock. Sounds like the rod is knocking. Runs great but the knock is bad. Compression is 210-210-170-180. My question is will a powerhead from a 2001, model F100TLRZ work. I found one of those on ebay. When looking at rebuilt heads they are grouped in 1999-2000 and 2001-2005. I can't find any difference on the parts schematics. The same guys that have the head also have a 1999 head from an 80 HP, model number F80TLRX that I could use with compressions 150-180. I have done everything but totally rebuild one so I have considered that too. Is there a step by step manual on total rebuilds? Thoughts and advice is greatly appreciated.
