I recently acquired a fish finder and electric trolling motor for my 14' sea nymph. What battery should I get to power these accessories? I do not have an electric starter, so the battery would only be used to run the fish finder and trolling motor, then charged when not in use....

any help is appreciated....

Re: power for trolling motor and fish finder

Get the best deep cycle battery that you can afford. The fish finder consumes very little power but the trolling motor, depending on wind and useage will drain a lot of power. I have read a lot about the gel type deep cycle but have no personal experience with them. Maybe someone else on the forum can speak from first hand experience on whether they are worth the extra money.
