Have you tried using the basic uploader? it's in the same box as the other uploader but in the far right lower corner. Then you select file and just below select file is the upload file button. How big are the files you're trying to upload? If you have a url address you can just cut and paste that address directly into the reply box. No need to use the uploader at all.

To add, there are currently some issues with the upload process and haven't heard of any fixes coming anytime soon. Appears all the forums use the same setup and depending on what site your on, things work differently. Maybe someday iboats will fix the issue but don't hold your breath. Best method is having your pics at sites like photobucket and then link to here. This method also has issues, one time the IMG function will work, the next time it can only be done with the direct via the URL.
