Hey guys, I just bought a newer Johnson shipmaster control box to run kicker motor, a 1985 evinrude 9.9. I bought new teleflex 479 cables because I could have sworn I saw somewhere that the 479 cables were used in this controller. When I received my new cables I opened up the controller and oops, it appears that the plastic connector inside the box uses a different cable, a plain wire that is threaded through a pin then clamped with a screw on each end. The plastic piece on the motor ends appear to be functional but I have not attempted to install them yet. Where did I go wrong? Do I have to order the old style cables or what?
