I own a Carolina Skiff J16 and I think its sitting too low in the rear. I'm the 3rd owner so not sure all that's been done to it. My waterline is like 7" high in the rear. I have a 48hp Evinrude, battery, and 6 gal fuel tank in the back also. Is it normal to sit this low in the water??

Pictures would help, ones of any damage to the inside or outside of the hull would be great.

I'll get some pics up soon, and I haven't had it weighed. Max weight is 1015.

don't know the hull (seen them), but possible rainwater, snow melt or whatever down under flooring. If flotation, can be absorbed. Correctable. Access to check?

According to Carolina Skiff, the dry weight of a J16 should be somewhere around 350lbs. Is that max weight you posted the capacity?

Carolina skiff hulls are known to have water in the hulls lately. There quality has slipped recently. If you have a pre-rig, chances are any screw holes in the hull were not sealed by the factory or dealer thus letting water in the hull. youtube Carolina skiff water in hull and have a look.

hull construction would seem to indicate proper water line (at or near where you have the transducer.)

stern mount transducer is usually mounted at the bottom of the hull, though, not at waterline. Can check mfg instructions, or call mfg helpline.

The metal wrapped around the transom where the outboard mounts looks like a Band-Aid to a soft transom and is not a good sign.

yeah, soft transom needs a repair regardless. Water typically from the top soaks the plywood backing (if that's what you have in your hull). Check with a screwdriver or punch. Lots of repair instr. in various threads (can start a fresh one).
