Possible Fuse blown on Carolina Skiff JVX 16 side console

Hello all! I'm a new Carolina skiff owner over the past year. Actually a new boat owner at that. Learning as I go. I recently had by bilge pump and livewell pump stop working. Like I said I'm a new boat owner, so I went and bought a new bilge pump, and hooked it inline to the existing wiring. Still not working. I now have been told I should have checked the fuses first, and yes, this makes sense to me after the fact. This leads to my question. I've been under the console looking for the fuses. I've traced the existing bilge and livewell wiring to a small black box behind each switch, bilge and accessory (livewell). I'm guessing the fuse is inside that box, because I did not see any fuses or fuse boxes in line anywhere else. After staring at these boxes for too long, I can't figure out how they open, or if they open at all. Anyone have any advice on this? Thanks for any help in advance!

Post a picture of the box, and the front of the switch panel.

That box is a circuit breaker. Under the switch in the console there should be a rubber cap that the breaker is attached to. If the breaker is tripped the button will be extended into this cap. Push it in and you will feel it go in and reset. If it feels there is nothing under the cap then the breaker is not tripped.

For diagnosing electrical problems it's best to have an inexpensive multimeter or at least a check light. A multimeter is nice to check for continuity as well as voltage. If the breaker is not tripped start with the wire coming from the battery and check for voltage. Check on both sides of the breaker and switch until you find where the problem is. Just hook one side of the meter (or light) to a good ground and touch the other side to the connectors until you don't get a reading anymore. Also check the connections at the pumps if you have voltage coming out of the switch.

I bought mine used and when I got it the bilge pump switch was bad. Never had a problem with the livewell circuit though.

I attached some pics. The first two are the black boxes. The 3rd from the left is the box that corresponds with the bilge switch. The second from the left is the accessory switch that operates the livewell pump. The pic with the white box, I put that on there because that is a connector of some sort connecting all the wires running from the switch board to the wires coming from all the pumps, etc.

Like I said before, that black box under the switch is a circuit breaker. Did you try testing for voltage? If there is voltage coming out of the switch then the problem may be in that white connector. Mine doesn't have one of those that I know of. You need to check for voltage so you can narrow down where the issue is.
