possiable engine combinations for a glastron

hello, my glastron has a old tired 2.2 straight 4. its a 74. what are the possiable different engines that are 4 or 6 cylinders. i dont want to put in a 8 cause thatd be too much for this old tired hull. but what are the possiable engines that i can put in. whould a 4.3 6 cylinder fit? or any other 2.2 or 2.0 4 cylinder.

I have a 74 V-179 Starflite and it has a 2.5L iron duke 4 cyl which is 140 HP. If you look up classis glastron, you can find your boat and the engines it came with from the factory. Good luck

what brand of drive package do you have now? if its a merc or v.p. you could put anything you want in it, the 4.3 would be a great choice if your stringers are in the right place. if you have an omc your stuck with goin back with the same, old stuff, and you could only use the vintage of engines that omc used, because of bell housing and 1 piece seal or 2 piece seal and or flywheel

Glastron made a lot of boats and different lengths in 1974. What do you have?
