Guys I have a new load rite trailer. I moved the axle up to distribute my tongue weight, and the leaf springs never seemed to seat as well as they did from the factory. Is this normal, and if not how do I get the bushing to set deeper into the leaf spring pocket?

You're going to have to explain, in detail, exactly what you moved. It certainly looks like you moved the rear shackles forward, but not the front spring mount. The way it's set up now, as the axle gets pushed up by a bump or pothole, the spring will get longer, and you run the risk of the front of the spring jumping off the bushing entirely.

To me it looks like you moved the front spring holder back a bit which shortened the spring and moved it out of the pocket and not the back hanger to match. I dont see any wear marks on the paint on the spring in front of the back holder so the movment would of had to been back and not foward. Looking at the pictures their dosnt seam to be any adjustment to move the back one unless you drill a new hole to mount the back spring holder and then shim up the bracket that holds the fender in place. But that should work fine.

Well guys there are 4 holes in the frame. Two were being used. I moved each spring holder up to the next hole which was the same distance. The holders are the exact same distance apart as they were from the factory. Thats what the other set of holes was for, shifting the axle.

Re: Position of leaf springs?

So I have taken the trailer on the road a few times, with no issues. I am making a 240+ mile haul down to the Albemarle Sound in two weeks, and want to get this resolved before that trip. I do NOT want a trailer catastrophe! Anyways, when I take the weight off of the trailer axle (jacking trailer up) the spring lengthens and sets properly. There were 4 holes in the frame on each side. The dealer says that it is set up for 2 available axle positions. The holes were pre drilled, so all I did was move the leaf spring holders up to the next holes, on each side. The holes are EXACTLY the same distance apart as the first two. I just cant understand how the leafs are not in the right spots with a load on the trailer........... Any input is greatly appreciated.

Ayuh,.... They ARE in the right position....

Those ends of the springs are Slipper eyes...
Your springs are centered/ located by the ends bolted to the equalizer, in the center of the tandem bogie...
