I sent out an earlier posting and go little help with my 5.7 Mercruiser dying on the lake. So I thought I would try again in regards to the distributor.

Does anyone have an easy way to pop the rotor out of the distributor. I thought it would just pop off but it does not. I am afraid to really lay into it!

Be a little careful here guys. That sensor ring on the rotor will take out the sensor in the distributor if you get too crazy. Usually a couple of screwdrivers between the tabs and all the way into the plastic part and some prying will pop them loose.

Heat works great for locktite, not so good with rust. I usually find rust as the holding force.
