poppet valve on 150 merc.

Where is poppet valve on 98 merc 150, if tere is one? Also is there one or two thermostats and where are those located? Thanks, just starting out.

Two thermostat, one at top of each bank of cylinders, poppet valve on starboard side of engine, lower part of block.
