Pope Dead?... AP Spoof?

We listen to Talk radio here at work.. 550 KTRS, HUGE talk radio station here in st. louis<br /><br />...They just came on, reported that the Pope had died.<br /><br />5 minutes later, news says that vatican states the pope is not dead. And they say nothing more.<br /><br />All I can guess is that someone did a good job of spoofing the AP.... <br /><br />anyone else hear the same thing?

I heard the denial first, then heard about the report of his death.<br /><br />Seems some reporter, in lust to scoop the world for his(her?) own glory shot him(her)self in the foot.<br /><br />I hope that reporter has a very sore foot for a long time. . . while tossing burgers at a vegan festival.

I think the Italian news agency made the report first.<br /><br />They are notorious for getting facts wrong/manufacturing news.

2 hours ago I watched the RAI news live (from Rome).<br /><br />Even they had conflicting reports.<br /><br />He's not dead until the vatican say so.
