I have 1987 harris pontoon with a omc cobra 2.3 liter inboard and having trouble with starting it,was out on the water and it sounded like we were giving out of gas and it just stopped ,hadnt cranked since,have checked the firing which is good,gas is going to the carb. put new plugs in it also,motor just spins anyone have any suggestions.

You need to have this moved to the OMC section. You'll be much more likely to get the help you need there.
