My 24 Ft pontoon has a dark green cover that is brownish green on the underside. I installed it the first time a few weeks ago. When I removed it yesterday after arriving at Salt Springs Fl, there was a pinkish brown stain on the top most section of every seat where the cover layed against the seat. Looks like the dye or "something" stained the vinyl (simulated leather?). Any suggestions on removing this stain that appears to be permanent?

Try Awesome from the Dollar Store. If that doesn't get it out, it's probably there for good.

I decorated my last boat for Christmas one year and where the tinsels hit the seat and got wet caused permanent stains on the seats until I sold it.

Good luck and report back on your success or lack of success.

try a magic eraser. you can get em at the dollar store pretty cheap.on my recent boat purchase I was pretty sure I was gonna have to replace the seats due to stains but the wife said lets try this first. low and behold it worked and made them look almost new again. she lets me know about it quite often too. lol

Where did you get the cover? The mfg. should replace the cover and cover cost of cleaning the seats. Materials for covers should not do this.

I loved the magic eraser worked on the used boat I just got. And it's easer then other products to use.

I have this same problem, Nothing seems to get them out but when we are out for a full day in the sun it will bleach the stains out. Then when we cover and uncover they are back. I read somewhere that it was caused by mold IN the seats?? But not sure. Does this sound like the same issue your having?

same problem, discovered today when we got our suncruiser pontoon out of storage. What has happened with your situation(s)? My cover came with the new boat -- marina says it is from the sun, and tarp touching the seats. Yeah, that is how a tarp works -- and on a boat? -- that's supposed to be in the sun. Can't believe google doesn't bring up more than this forum. Will call dealer tomorrow.

had sane problem with mine went to local paint store they have marine grade sprat cans to respray seats. I also had sun damage it covers great and is very durable does not peel chip or rub off but you MUST use the preping agent on the seats first. Bought it at and auto paint storeit comes in different colors that actually match many boat seat colors.
My seats now look brand new.

Thank you all so much. Talked to the dealer, who agrees with the mold in the foam theory. Two days in the sun, and it is pretty much eradicated. I would NEVER have believed that theory. 5 years and it never happened, but then if the marina had it setting out in the wettest April in history, followed by a couple 90 degree days -- that could have done it.
