I have a couple of friends there with cabins, so I haven't camped there. I love Pomme, though. It's plenty big to do whatever we want to do in our 19' bow rider and it seems less choppy than Stocton to me.

Only been on Stockton twice but your right there is not much to stop the wind.
At pomme you can run around the corner there at the dam and get out of the wind seems like one side can be choppy when the wind is blowin go around the corner and it's smooth as silk as long as it's not busy anyway.

Yep. I'm headed down there this weekend to pick up my boat from the mechanic. I'll put it on the water for a joy ride before I head home. Can't wait.

Re: Pomme De Terre lake

We are up by the wheatland end of the lake about 5 miles from the dam west of Wheatland park. I hear lightfoot park is ok, but Quarry Point park is were you can see the fireworks on 4th of july weekend. We always just drive up to the damn and watch. The last couple of years it has been a little cool or rainy to get the kids into the boat and ride up there. Pomme is a really beautiful lake, Not to much traffic but you still need to watch for other boaters as always. Like said befor if the lake is to ruff in one area go around the bend and it mellows out.
