Im new here so bear with me :redface:
I recently bought a used boat with a Honda BF50 outboard from 99. When i bought the boat the seller started the engine and it ran vry well. He told me he had change oil, oil filter and impeller recently and that the motor only had been running approx.15 hours after.
Now 1 month later after i have done some small repairs in the boat im ready to dumb it into the water. So i checked the oil on the engine and discovered that the oil is looking dirty kinda brown. Also there was some white stuff inside the oil filler tube. Is this due to water in the oil?
I have read some threads here about water in the oil but im not sure how i can determine if its water polluting the oil or something else.
I haven't tried to start the engine yet and i will defenitly change the oil before i start it.
