As promised here are the totals from the poll

'How happy are you with your boat?'

Presented as percentages of all:

34% has their first boat,
27% did a good deal of homework before getting the boat and 51% really digged into it.
At the end of the day 80% owns a major, well known brand.
95% thinks that their boat's design is pretty good or better, 57% finds their boat's building quality better or much better than expected and 55% thinks that the electrics are as expected - 37% finds it better or much better.

2% thinks the safety should be better, 20% finds it OK and 78% finds it safer than they need (2/3 of those feel safe at all times which indicates that boaters are careful and use their boat well within it's limits).
90% would recommend their boat to a friend but 3% would look for a different make (appearantly they'd pass on their first-boat experience while they'd personally go for something more specialized next time).

39% of spouses disagree or doesn't care while 61% agrees in boating matters.

Depending on how you like to extract wisdom from this, you could end up with both newbies and experienced boaters ends up with a major brand and are happy with the design, positively surprised by the electrics and very happy with the safety onboard it surpasses their needs. Most are happy enough to recommend their boat to friends although some would look for another brand (upgrade?) for themselves next time. 4 of 10 spouses disagree or doesnt care in boating matters.

Stuff to think about.....
