Re: pole settings for tacho

Depending on the serial number of the outboard I think you will either have a 4 pole or a 12 pole alternator. Have you contacted Teleflex directly to ask? Did the instructions have a chart on applications? I have Faria gauges in my boat and their site has complete listings of the alternator configs listed for most outboards. Teleflex should be able to tell you the same thing if you contact them. They're very good at customer service or so my past experience tells me.

Re: pole settings for tacho

i have been in touch with teleflex and they have cleared up the bit about the module , older engines need this, they emailed a couple of pdf's pages from there manual telling me how to fit but nothing to do with the pole settings for my serial number.
cheers
