points for force engine

what year did they quit using points? I have a 1987 model 507F7A --50 HP. I have'nt had the flywheel off but have been told by some it had points and by some that it did not have any points. I always thought that if it had points it had to have a distributor which mine has a coil for each plug.<br />Thanks<br />ron

Your engine DOES have points.<br /><br />F12329-2 is the part number.<br /><br />I believe that was the last year of points.<br /><br />TMD
