plugs fouling

yheap, making the engine actually shut down! <br />but i found a little trick to cleaning the plugs with a drill and a piece of fine sand paper on the other end. works wonders as you can see. <br />the 2 plugs on the right are autolites (wich i dont recomend using) and the other ones are NGK buhx and were just as bad if not worst. <br />

<br /><br />i decarbed last season but i will try it againg. i can see carbon build up trough the spark plug hole. ama decarb the eng but i dont know what else to try. i got the carb screw 1 1/4 turns out from lightly seated. :rolleyes: (89 force 50, new f. pump diaghfram and lines. clean carb)

Personally, I would turn the carb screw out another 1/4.<br />Should run a little richer, and cooler, hopefully with less buildup.<br />Can't hurt to try it.

man i dont know what else to try. now it wont start no way no how. gotta lean towards ignition problems scince spraying fuel mix and starting fluid into the carb dindt make any diference at all.<br />that said i need instructions on how exactly troubleshoot the coils and everything electrical please. where would you start?

Where would I start? I'd buy a repair manual, either a Clymer brand or a factory manual from ebay.<br /><br />Electricals on these motors are ........ interesting.<br />Start by checking for spark.<br />Wait, first check the kill switch.<br />Then check for spark.<br />Then check the startor for resistance.<br />Then follow the ignition testing procedure in the manual.<br /><br />Gonna need a little test meter, and probably a DVA adaptor for it.
