plugged deflector hose?

Noticed one of the deflector hoses is plugged? Looks like a piece of plastic shoved in there intentionally. Is water suppose to flow through the deflector hose? I won't worry about it if it doesn't affect anything.

no ,it wont affect it,they are not supposed to have water pass thru,they deflect water from the side,wh the plastic is there ???? who knows.Do you have a perticular problem?? why did you pull the head,dont forget NEW gasket and torque the bolts

Probably there because it's the wrong hose. The correct one has an OD of 3/8 and ID of 1/8, like the one across from it. Doesn't matter as long as it does not move.
