Can anyone tell me a good marine plug wire crimping tool? Where to find it too. Probably not the right forum for this question. I am crimping new boot kits onto some plug wire for a mercury outboard motor.

Thanks guys,

For lnline screw in connectors I use a RG6/59 cable TV crimping tool as it leaves a hexagon crimp, the MSD tool is good for boot ends..

Electricians carry a combination tool. It's a wire stripper, stud cutter and crimper. I've wore out several through the years and every one I've seen has a, ignition crimping area on it. Almost any electricial supply house carries them, along with Home Depot and Lowes. Harbor Freight has them too.

Ive got several . None of the combination tools do a good long rolled crimp like a dedicated spark plug wire tool does. You can buy a great tool but if its just something you will do a few dozen plug wires with over a lifetime the progressive metal lined MSD plastic set works great in a vise and costs about $12.
