Where in the world can a guy get a screw in type plug for a old Texas Maid boat??? I have a 1959 16'Texas Maid Fiesta (Aluminum) and can't find a Origanal type plug for it. Anyone know a outlet for these things, iv'e tried the rubber style plugs they are to big, don't know what to do short of putting a steel nipple with a cap on it, but dont want to put a steel plug in a aluminum hole. HELP

well i have 2 of the plugs that you want i'm going to do foam injection under my floor from front to back and drill a hole in the transom dead center and run a rubber plug in it like the newer boats have. i was missing 1 plug but my work place has brass fittings that will replace the originals. i will sell you the plugs for $15.00 plus shipping they still have the orings on them. does your boat still have the texas maid emblem on the side if so could you email me a close up pic of it i would like to make a replica of it to go on my boat.

My boat dosn't have the stickers on it but here is a pic of the Texas Maid co. sticker that used to be on mine. Texas Maid Logo Mine had them on it but have since peeled off. I guess i didn't ingauge my brain (brass won't hurt alum.) I was running all over the place to marine dealers tring to find a cast plug like it came out with. Thanks

I have a 1959 Crestliner 14' AL boat.

I've heard that you can buy these original-style AL drain plugs, plus the female patch-in piece from The Boat Works in Little Falls, MN.

lol, I know it's country, but when we go out on the river in my fiance's grandpa's boat, we use an old corn shuck...LOL. just my 2 cents. As long as it keeps the water out, no worries!!
