I'm posting this here due to the higher numbers of viewers and hopefully someone can help. I am looking for a 10 (TEN) wire ignition switch for my 1993 Proline center console. It runs a Mercury engine. I have an internal short to ground that is causing issues and all I can find are the 6 wire or terminal switches. I found two posts here on iboats that were from 2010 and earlier with this same switch question but there were no responses. It's a potted switch with 10 (count 'em, ten) wires. No marking or label for what is what as far as terminals/wire location. Nobody seems to have heard about these- every switch I find is for a switchbox, not a stand alone dash mounted version. My boat is down and I'm mad- it's always me that has the ONLY one like it in the universe.

Any help would be appreciated.

have you tried boat salvage yards? Sounds like something that wasn't made for very long.

FOUND the problem and FIXED it. Can you hear the relief in my voice? Found a broken wire within the harness near the switch that was breaking ground, allowing a crossfeed from the power feed. This took me nearly 4 hours to trace, unwrap, fix and repair the issue. All of this under my center console, on my back with a hatch latch stabbing me. Thank the Lord I found this. Boat is now acting normally again.

And as far as the switch, mine must be the only one ever made...
