Please Identify Outboard Motor Part

Hi,

I found this part on the ground after taking the cover off my 1990 90 hp Mercury outboard. I had just replaced the oil injection inlet line the day before.

Can someone please identify it for me?

Hi there Bill, That part appears to be your shift or throttle "cable latch" that is designed to lock the throttle or shift cable barrels in-place.
