I recently bought a used 2004 mercury 60elptefi for my pontoon motor has 511 hours but while running wot 5100 rpm iam get a solid alarm and it's going in guardian mode until I got back to neutral for a few seconds. I've got the mercury vessel view and it has great oil pressure and everything looks normal and it's alarming for engine overspeed. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Also I noticed the oil temp stayed at 32 ? Where does it get the temperature from?

Not an OB guy but your going to need the motor scanned. The 32 on the oil says its not working, and my guess is there is other things that are not working also.

Mercruiser has a in gear switch and don't know if your OB does, but a Merc sounds an alarm above 2500 RPM if the ECM thinks the motor is not in gear

Ok thanks for the reply I have to find a local person to scan It the vessel view shows some stuff but not a lot I have a feeling it's something stupid it has great oil pressure and everything
